April 27 – Babe Ruth Day

Babe Ruth is a baseball legend and his birthday is celebrated by fans all over the world on April 27th. As one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Babe Ruth holds many records and received numerous awards and nicknames such as “The Colossus of Clout” and “The Sultan of Swat.” Though he was a hugely successful and inspirational figure, Ruth had a troubled childhood and was constantly getting into trouble. As a result, he was placed in a Catholic reformatory and orphanage at seven years old. He went on to become one of the greatest baseball players in history despite nothing stopping his talent.
