May 13 – Fintastic Friday

This year’s Fintastic Friday falls on May 13th. Elasmobranchii, a subclass of cartilaginous fish that includes sharks, rays, skates, and sawfish, is the focus of this special day. These aquatic animals contain five to seven pairs of separately opening gill clefts, inflexible dorsal fins, and tiny placoid skin scales. Ruth Musgrave, the founder, and director of Whale Times created Fintastic Friday, which promotes the conservation of these magnificent creatures.
