Welcome
A Little Older, A Little Sassier, and Unspooled
Well… I went out for a minute, and apparently several months happened. 😂
Last Christmas, I took BellaKatella.com offline with every intention of giving it a fresh look and getting right back to it. I did the fresh-look part. Then I got caught up in Facebook, and this little corner of mine sat here waiting for me to remember where I lived.
So, here I am. And it feels good to be home.
Some of you may remember my old blog. There were more than ten years of sewing projects, artwork, daily rants, and conversations tucked into those pages. That blog is gone, and while I wish I still had some of those stories, I’ve decided to give myself a fresh start.
I’m different now. Life is different. I’ve got new things to make, new things to say, and somehow still plenty of things to misplace in the sewing room.
Welcome to Bella Katella Unspooled.
The name seems appropriate. There’s the sewing connection, of course. Then there’s my tendency to start telling you about one thing and wind up three subjects away, wondering how we got there. Consider yourself warned.
You’ll find sewing here. Art, too. Music I’m making, things I’m trying, and the occasional project that looked much more cooperative in my head. The boys will undoubtedly make appearances. And yes, the rants will be back. I have opinions, and it would be a shame to waste them.
Spending so much time on Facebook reminded me of something I’d forgotten: I used to love posting without checking how many people had seen it. I’d share what I was working on or whatever was on my mind, and we’d have a conversation.
I miss that.
I want this place to feel like dropping by a friend’s house. Some days there’s something new on the sewing table. Some days there’s a picture to show you or a song to play. And some days we’re sitting around saying, “You are not going to believe this.”
My plan is to pop in every day. It won’t always be a long post. Sometimes a picture and a few words will do nicely. I want to leave room for the little everyday things, because those were always part of what made blogging feel personal.
If you’ve found your way back after all this time, I’m happy you’re here. And if this is your first visit, welcome. You’ve arrived at a good time—we’re just getting started.
Pull up a chair. Tell me what you’ve been making, doing, or getting yourself into.
I’ve missed this.
Love,
Bella ♥
