Early Bird Special?
November has been here for about five minutes, and already I’m considering pajamas before the dinner dishes are done.
The sun clocks out, the house gets cozy, and suddenly the most ambitious thing on my schedule is finding the good blanket. Here in Hooterville, “going out tonight” means taking the dogs outside and hoping they conduct their business with a sense of urgency.
They rarely do. Apparently, a leaf has moved since their last inspection.
Meanwhile, I have creative plans. Big plans. There are patterns to work on, pictures to make, and fabric waiting patiently for me to become the organized woman I apparently believed I was when I bought it.
You know that lovely feeling when you find the perfect piece of fabric in your stash?
Followed immediately by: “What did I buy this for?”
That’s the surprise portion of the hobby. We pay extra for that.
Today, I’m embracing the little comforts: a warm drink, a few stitches, a laugh with a friend, and making something simply because it makes me happy. The laundry can watch. Maybe it will learn to fold itself.
